Mia Khalifa’s remark regarding Oppenheimer has gone viral on social media, as the critically acclaimed movie marches toward expected Oscar glory.

Universal Pictures’ R-rated movie, which was released internationally on July 21, features Cillian Murphy in the titular role as theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who had a pivotal role in developing the first nuclear weapons. Emily Blunt portrays his wife, Katherine, in the Christopher Nolan-directed picture.

Oppenheimer earned over $80 million in the U.S. on its opening weekend, coming second to fellow summer release Barbie, which took in a total of $155 million. With international earnings factored in, Oppenheimer‘s overall opening tally stood at $93.7 million to Barbie‘s $182 million. To date, Oppenheimer has earned more than $957 million in total globally, per Box Office Mojo.

Former adult film star Khalifa has declared herself to quite the fan of Oppenheimer since its release, sharing a series of social-media posts about the film. On the day of Oppenheimer’s opening, she marked the occasion by dressing in retro attire.

Khalifa proved that her months-long love affair with the film shows no signs on waning over the weekend, when she responded to a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Barstool Sports’ Jack Kennedy.

“Bar is just playing Oppenheimer lmao [laughing my *** off],” Kennedy wrote, alongside a photo of the movie showing on a sports bar screen surrounded by liquor-filled shelves.

“Just as Christopher Nolan intended for it to be viewed,” Khalifa quipped in a response that, as of press time, has been viewed more than 756,000 times.

Khalifa also reposted a comment from a follower, who said that the fashion enthusiast has “promoted Oppenheimer like nobody else ever could.”

While Lebanese-born Khalifa has sparked headlines in months past for her outspoken support of Palestinian citizens amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, she appears to have had movies and TV shows on the mind in recent days.

Khalifa has shared posts regarding Nolan’s 2020 sci-fi action thriller Tenet and Mary Harron’s 2000 satirical psychological horror American Psycho. She also wrote that she “can’t believe 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, AND Veep all aired together at one point…”

Oppenheimer has proved to be an awards-season darling, picking up several trophies in recent weeks that included the top prize at Saturday’s Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

The film took home the trophy for best movie cast. Murphy landed the best movie actor prize, while his co-star Robert Downey Jr. was named best supporting actor.

Hollywood’s main awards season will all but conclude with March 10’s Academy Awards, where Oppenheimer has received 13 nominations. It will face off against the likes of such acclaimed hits as Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, American Fiction, and Maestro, among others, for the covered best picture prize.
