The teen’s journey with cancer began in September 2023, but it was not until January that she decided to make her battle public. Initially mistaking her symptoms for vertigo, a doctor’s visit revealed the unfortunate reality of a brain tumor. “The biggest one is I couldn’t walk in a straight line. That’s why I thought I had vertigo. And then I would also wake up very nauseous and have to throw up most days,” she recalls in another Youtube video.

The video also highlighted Isabella’s artistic side, showcasing her uplifting drawings she created during her treatment. Among her creations were a star wearing cowboy boots, various flower designs, and a depiction of Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. Additionally, she shared a heartfelt “I love you” note she penned for her grandmother in her USC notebook.

The talk show host’s daughter also opened up about her connection with Greg Brooks Jr., a Louisiana State University football player battling the same cancer type. Their bond formed through his grandmother, leading to daily conversations that Isabella finds incredibly uplifting. “We keep in touch every day and he’s really inspiring. He’s the one I keep very close touch with and I can’t wait to meet him in person one day,” she said. In a display of solidarity, Isabella, along with her entire family, showed their support for Brooks by wearing sweatshirts dedicated to him in the video.

Isabella has used her YouTube channel to document her journey in hopes to help others in similar situations. Her father opened up about how proud he is of his daughter on GMA, saying, “She has bravely, bravely documented her journey on YouTube in hopes of helping other people with the same diagnosis feel supported and to know that they are not alone.”

Dad Michael has been a huge source of support to his daughter. Earlier this year, he shared his confidence in Isabella’s strength with Good Morning America, affirming, “I know she’s going through it, but I know that we’re never given more than we can handle and that she is going to crush this.”
