All dog owners love their furbabies above everything else, but do dogs love their humans just as much? A woman who owns five dogs played a prank on them to see how many cared, and their unexpected reaction left the internet in stitches.
In a post shared on TikTok earlier in December, under the username tracyfosterling, the woman can be seen dropping to the floor in front of her five dogs, expecting a reaction out of them, but unfortunately for the owner, she didn’t get what she wanted.
The hilarious clip comes with a caption that says: “I pretended to fall and die to see how many of my 5 dogs would care and come help… not in a rush at all… 1, 2… Nevermind, just wants to sniff her sister’s b***… while I’m dying…”

She then goes along to reconstruct their imaginary conversation: “Sis… mum is dead. stop. Oh, she’s dead? okay, bye then! I heard she’s dead… no point of going over there then. mama I stay with your dead body, maybe you come back to life if I lay here. 1 of 5…”
The poster told Newsweek that her five dogs are all rescues. She said: “[I have] a black lab, 3 Great Pyrenees, and a mutt. They are a crazy bunch, but they keep me on my toes.”
These dogs probably knew she was just pretending, and didn’t bother playing along. In reality, dogs do love their owners and care about them.
VCA Animal Hospitals says: “Science proves that part of the canine brain is associated with positive emotions and they do, indeed, feel love for their human companions.”
Many signs prove your dog loves you, but perhaps the most obvious one is their excitement to see you. If your dog jumps or barks or gets overly excited when you step through the door, that’s because they couldn’t wait to have you back home.
The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 332,500 views and nearly 4,000 likes on the platform.
One user, K Money, commented: “And she’s the one we leave all the inheritance to.” And deedee0721 said: “All I can think about is how much hair you gotta clean up. I only have one and it’s crazy!! any tips?”
Remington wrote: “They are too smart to be fooled!” And Pam added: “I did this with my cat he jumped all over me and was biting me.”
