Ottawa police west city wide in enforcing their “Operation Noisemaker” initiative Friday night.
‘In all, 54 tickets for speeding were issued across the city. In an addition, five stunt driving tickets were issued in Kanata, Barrhaven and Orléans, police said in a release.

One driver was estimated to be travelling at more than 125 km/hr in a 60 zone in Barrhaven, while another was found going more than 135km/hr on 10th Line Road. in Orleans.

Another 52 tickets were issued for infractions like unsafe lane changing, failure to wear seatbelt, excessive noise, distracted driving, expired plates and other offences.
Seven drivers received traffic tickets with court dates for more serious infractions like driving with a suspended licence, falsified insurance documents, obstructed plates, and driving an unsafe vehicle.
During a R.I.D.E program in two locations, 53 roadside breath samples were also taken, resulting in one G2 driver having their licence suspended.
