Morgan Wallen’s ex-fiancée has some things to say about his recent arrest on April 7. The country star was put in handcuffs after throwing a chair off the roof of a bar and faces multiple charges, according to police reports.

KT Smith, Wallen’s ex-fiancée and mother to their 3-year-old son, Indigo, recently addressed his arrest, occurring just days after her own surprise wedding. Contrary to speculation, Smith clarified in a statement to The Daily Beast that she sees no link between Wallen’s legal troubles and her marriage to Luke Scornavacco.

“Although it may seem like it correlates because of the timeline, I have no evidence to believe the incident had anything to do with the recent marriage announcement,” Smith stated. She expressed her hope for The Voice alum’s well-being, saying, “I cannot speak on Morgan’s behalf, but I do pray the very best for him. Praying that this was just a slip up and that he will return to the good path that he was on prior.”

Smith, a 29-year-old social media influencer, and Wallen, 30, had a history dating back to 2016, including an engagement that was called off, and the eventual birth of their son in July 2020, after the couple had permanently separated. Smith announced her engagement to 22-year-old Scornavacco on March 29 and shared news of their union on April 3, with a marriage certificate photo from Tennessee’s Wilson County Clerk’s Office.

Wallen found himself facing felony charges on April 7, following an incident where he allegedly threw a chair off the roof of Chief’s bar in Nashville. Metro Nashville police reported that the event occurred just before 11 p.m., witnessed by two officers. Wallen was subsequently arrested and allegedyly charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct, with a court date set for May 3 in Nashville, coinciding with his scheduled performance at the Nissan Stadium.

The bar, owned by Wallen’s friend and country singer Eric Church, had its grand opening on April 5, a few days prior.
