My life because the Queen’s piper – BBC Information
Every morning at precisely 9 o’clock, a little-known ritual takes place in grounds of the place the Queen is in residence.

For quarter-hour, a lone piper in Highland uniform strikes up a number of tunes beneath the monarch’s window – a place referred to as the Piper to the Sovereign.

Scottish veteran Pipe Main Scott Methven held the function for 4 years, a job usually thought of probably the most coveted within the piping world.

From humble beginnings rising up in Stirling, Scott joined the military and travelled the world. Upon getting back from service in Afghanistan, he was chosen to be the Queen’s private piper from 2015 to 2019.
