A woman’s hilarious way of describing why her dog moved to a new crate has left viewers in stitches, as her TikTok post has garnered 4.7 million views.

The TikTok user known as @kaiannaclarke0515 first showed an empty dog crate that was broken right near the door. This is what she called the county jail cell. It was small, but it did the trick. That is until the dog found a way to escape.

She then went on to show where the mastermind was transferred to, also known as “maximum security prison.” The new and improved crate had thicker bars with much more space. However, the dog did not look too happy. But as she said, he did the crime and now it’s time for him to do the time.

The caption reads: “He outgrew it, but we wanted to make sure he didn’t ruin the new one.”

There is no way the dog will be able to escape from this heavy-duty “prison” now. Instead of one latch, this new crate has two, making it extra difficult for this doggo to come up with a master plan for breaking free.

Thankfully, it doesn’t sound like he’ll try getting out. The owner wrote in a separate video that he loves the new space. It has quickly become his new favorite napping spot. He is retiring from his escape artist days.

Newsweek reached out to the owner via TikTok for comment.

Finding the Perfect Crate

The options are endless when it comes to buying items for your pets, whether you’re in the market for just a toy or something bigger like a carrier or crate. With so many different styles and sizes of crates, it’s hard to know where to begin.

For starters, your dog should be able to stand up with ease, comfortably turn around, and fit through the crate door. PetMD suggests there be at least two inches of clearance above your dog’s head when they sit in the crate. Plus, they should be able to fully extend their limbs when lying on their side.

There is a fine line between too small and too big. Not having enough space can lead to negative experiences and unpleasantness, but on the flip side, a space too large could lead to accidents.

Dog owners should also keep in mind whether or not they’ll add crate mats or beds. This would take up additional room and should be included in the dog’s measurements.
