Hall of Fame NBA player Allen Iverson will have the story of his life and career made into an upcoming documentary. Shaquille O’Neal and his production company, Jersey Legends, is teaming up with Stephen Curry and Unanimous Media to create a documentary about Iverson that will air on Prime Video.

“I’m ready to tell my story my way, authentic and unapologetically. I look forward to people seeing a side of me they haven’t seen before,” Iverson said.

Iverson was a former NBA MVP and an 11-time All-Star during his 15-year playing career that was primarily spent with the Philadelphia 76ers. His legendary career began as he was drafted first overall by the 76ers in 1996, out of Georgetown. Iverson led the league in scoring four times in his career (1999, 2001, 2002, and 2005), and also led in steals three times (2001-2003). He’s been named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team, and is cemented as one of the legends of the game.

Not only was he exceptional on the court, despite standing just six feet tall, but Iverson helped transform the culture and play of the NBA. An outspoken but controversial player, Iverson is certainly one of the more interesting figures to suit up in an NBA uniform, making him a prime candidate for a documentary.

Iverson has previously been the featured subject of a 2010 documentary, called, “No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson.” The documentary followed the trial of a brawl that Iverson was involved in while playing high school basketball in Virginia.

Steph Curry and Unanimous Media CEO Erick Peyton spoke on the upcoming partnership with Shaquille O’Neal and his production company to produce this documentary.

“We’re excited to join forces with Prime Video, Shaquille O’Neal, and Jersey Legends to tell the incredible story of Allen Iverson, a revolutionary figure with deep influence on and off the court,” Curry and Peyton said.

Curry and Peyton also revealed the primary goal as they headed into producing and creating Iverson’s documentary.

“This project provides us the opportunity to pull back the curtains on Iverson’s storied career, legacy, and impact through meaningful storytelling that will appeal to audiences worldwide.”

Both O’Neal and Curry have transformed their own basketball careers into several other projects, including these production companies. O’Neal and Curry are both four-time NBA Finals champions and former NBA league MVPs. Curry’s company has previously produced films including “Underrated,” based on Curry’s rise to the NBA, and “Jump Shot,” based on Kenny Sailors.

A release date and more information on the documentary will be released in the future.
