A recall was issued in Ohio on Friday for several brands that produce an array of products, including CBD gummies and tinctures.

In a press release obtained by Newsweek, the Ohio Department of Agriculture announced that Rocket Systems Inc. was issuing a voluntary recall of dozens of different products including CBD gummies, ACV [apple cider vinegar] gummies, CBD tincture and other cosmetic products.

“The products were produced without the benefit of inspection from the Ohio Department of Agriculture,” the press release obtained by Newsweek said. “The issue was discovered during a routine inspection conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. There have been no reports of illness involving products addressed in this recall.

“All product involved in this recall should be disposed of, or returned to 415 Greenwell Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio 45238,” the announcement added.

According to WJW news in Cleveland, Ohio, the different recalled products include CBD gummies, sleep aid capsules, Garcinia capsules, moisturizer, night cream, facial serum, mushroom capsules, CBD tincture, aloe gel, male enhancement capsules, nitric oxide capsules, testosterone boost capsules and skin tag tonic.

The recall included over 100 brands that produced the different products, including 1st Choice, ACV For Keto Health, Beauty Beach, CalmCanna, Eroxyfil, EZ Burn, Keto Blast, MaxMelt, Perfect 10, ProHealth, Rapid Results, Super CBD, VV CBD and Wellness Peak. Dozens of other brands were also listed in the release. Among the different brands included in the recall, over 20 produced CBD products, such as gummies or tinctures.

The recall this week comes shortly after the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program announced a similar recall of cannabis gummies produced by BeneLeaves Limited in Ohio, over concerns that the product had a faulty tamper-proof seal, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the recall was for BeneLeaves Limited Smokiez Sweet Tropical Fruit Gummies which were sold to legal dispensaries in the state from September 15, 2023, to December 27, 2023. No adverse side effects were discovered from the recalled products, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Last month, New York State Office of Cannabis Management announced a recall of THC gummies due to the product not being properly tested by the state agency governing the sale of recreational legal cannabis.

The recall was for Jenny’s Zee Zee Gummies 2:1 THC/CBN, and the office of cannabis management told Newsweek that “The affected product did not undergo the required testing for consumer safety and product quality.”

“This recall is a precautionary measure because this lot was not properly tested. The Office of Cannabis Management has not received any reports of adverse effects caused by consumption of this product,” the agency told Newsweek last month.
