A TikTok video of two dogs attempting to run on the treadmill together has left viewers in stitches as the two looked like siblings.

The April 5 TikTok video posted by dog trainer Meghan Dougherty, who is known on TikTok as @everydaytrainer, showed a golden retriever and Malinois tightly together on a treadmill. Neither of them wanted off. So instead they decided to run together.

The two dogs kept up with each other at the same speed; however, they were slightly pushing against each other in hopes of getting to be the top dog. At one point, the golden retriever tried licking the other dog’s face as a distraction. But there were no hard feelings.

The text on the video reads: “2 dogs 1 brain cell.”

“They’re obsessed with the treadmill and each other so if only one treadmill is going they’ll walk together,” Dougherty told Newsweek.

The two dogs with one brain cell didn’t care they were on the same treadmill. They were going to share no matter what because the two were in sync. Plus, it must be a fun game for these two dogs always trying to see who can outlast the other.

The hilarious April 5 TikTok clip had reached over 287,000 views, 27,900 likes and 322 comments as of Monday. While people were cracking up at these two dogs, people were the least bit surprised.

“This is such a sibling thing,” wrote a viewer.

Someone else commented: “The way they are both trying to push the other one off.”

A third person added: “I’m actually impressed, the two of them walk better on a treadmill than one of me.”

Doggy Treadmill Benefits

Treadmills aren’t just beneficial for humans. Dogs can get excellent exercise on treadmills throughout the year. Owners can get their dogs to use treadmills for warm-ups and conditioning, the American Kennel Club reported.

While beneficial when the weather is not the best, owners should remember that walking on a treadmill is completely different from being outside. Once training is done, the treadmill is just physical exercise. Dogs still need fresh air and the mental stimulation associated with walking outside.

Newsweek previously reported about two dogs also benefiting from underwater treadmills. The dogs were found wandering San Antonio, Texas, with severe injuries to their hind legs. Following orthopedic surgery, the dogs used a treadmill submerged in a container of water four days a week as their physical therapy.

Owners should still be cautious if letting their dog use a treadmill, as unsupervised sessions or overtraining might lead to injury.
