Step aside baby gender reveal parties, a new reveal party has walked in and people are obsessed with the idea.

A recent TikTok video by user @gossamerwingedknit showed friends coming together for a party, but it was not for a baby. Instead, it was for a fur baby named Franky. The dog’s owner hosted a dog breed reveal party in conjunction with Franky’s birthday.

The place was decorated with balloons and people brought presents. On the TV screen was a PowerPoint ready to reveal this mixed dog’s breed. Partygoers counted down together for the owner to flip the slide and reveal the long-awaited moment. Cheers erupted when the first breed was revealed: Chihuahua.

The caption reads: “Don’t know why we were so hype about 22.9% Chihuahua.”

Confused about the situation, Franky still accepted hugs and kisses from the person holding him. All of Franky’s friends who attended were going to love him no matter what breed he was.

Newsweek reached out to @gossamerwingedknit via TikTok for additional information.

Dog DNA testing kits can run anywhere between $60 and $200 depending on how detailed you want the results. To some, it might seem like a waste of money, but others believe the findings to be useful.

A dog’s DNA test will help reveal the dog breed or breeds, which will place them into the best home possible, according to an article from Embark Vet. For example, you wouldn’t necessarily want a large dog breed living in a small apartment.

Owners who opt to get their dog’s DNA tested can also learn about potential health risks that might be common in specific breeds as well as characteristics and traits.

‘My type of people’

The April 5 TikTok video quickly became a hit with viewers as many now want to copy this party idea. As of Monday, the clip had over 820,500 views, 121,500 likes, and 463 comments.

“Now I feel bad for not throwing my dog a breed reveal party,” commented one viewer.

Another added: “These r my type of people!”

A third person wrote: “This is the only kind of reveal I will be attending from now on.”

Others are guessing what other breeds Franky has in his DNA with someone suggesting: “The other 78% is made up of treats, gas, cuddles and naps.” Can’t forget that he’s also a 100 percent good boy.
