Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers shot rubber bullets at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) protestors while clearing a pro-Palestinian encampment at the university.
The incident comes as the LAPD was deployed to provide mutual aid to the university where a pro-Palestinian encampment was held. The encampment turned violent when pro-Palestinian protestors and pro-Israel counter protestors clashed on Tuesday night. Protests turned even more violent on Wednesday night and police deployed rubber bullets on Thursday morning.
Footage from Good Day LA showed police shooting rubber bullets at the encampment. It is unclear if there are any injuries. Newsweek reached out to LAPD by email for comment.
