Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship has become the focus of a new viral video after footage of the royal teasing his wife over being late to one of their first dates has resurfaced on social media site, TikTok.

Harry and Meghan will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary on May 19 and since splitting from the monarchy in 2020 have regularly discussed their marriage and relationship in interviews and media projects.

One such project where the greatest insight into the couple’s early dating history was given to fans was their 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.

Over the course of six episodes, the couple took part in on-camera interviews and provided never-before-seen home movies and photographs to illustrate the timeline of their relationship, both the positive aspects such as the meeting and marrying, and the negative, which included their experiences with the tabloid press.

Among the lighthearted moments of the show, Harry and Meghan discussed their first dates which took place in London in the summer of 2016. She was then visiting Britain to attend the Wimbledon Tennis Championships while on a filming break from her TV show, Suits.

The couple recounted how Harry had been late to their first date at Soho House in the center of London, while the prince then teasingly revealed that Meghan had been late.

Uploaded to TikTok by user, queendianaspncer, on April 27, footage from the couple’s joking exchange has gone viral, gaining over half a million views on the social media site.

“She was late,” Harry jokingly whispered to the camera in the clip, to which Meghan voiced surprise.

“I was late?” she said.

“Yeah, remember? You came rushing in from having a shower,” the prince prompted.

Meghan remembered she had come from Wimbledon but noted it was only “like five minutes” and added: “I hate being late.”

“I was like ‘you can be as late as you want, I ain’t moving,'” Harry remembered.

The footage has received over 80,000 likes on TikTok and 100 comments, many of which have praised the couple and their ease in each other’s company.

“I love their love story! Wishing them all the love and success in the world,” wrote one TikTok fan.

“They’re so good for each other…perfect soulmates,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “So cute teasing her…you get the impression she could be a bit uptight but nice to see them joke about one another.”
