Prince Louis’ adorable interaction with his grandfather, King Charles III, has been praised by fans online after footage captured during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 has resurfaced on social media site TikTok.

Louis, 5, is the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, and has been photographed at a number of high profile events in the past two years alongside his siblings: Prince George, 10; and Princess Charlotte, 8.

The prince is currently fourth in the line of succession to inherit the throne and though is still too young to be a regular feature at royal engagements, he has been seen at some large events such as the annual Trooping the Colour celebrations in June and the Christmas Day royal walkabout in December.

One of the biggest events Louis has attended to date was the coronation service in which his grandfather, King Charles, was crowned.

The Westminster Abbey ceremony took place on May 6, 2023, and the young prince was photographed alongside his parents and older sister as the historic process took place.

Louis’ relationship with his grandfather has often been commented on by royal fans and experts, with the prince being given a middle name of “Charles” in his honor.

The king and prince have been photographed together over the years and in 2022, a special moment that occurred during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee pageant in London inspired a number of viral posts and videos.

Uploaded to TikTok by user walesroyaledits, on February 12, the latest of these features the resurfaced footage of Louis sitting on his grandfather’s knee during the three-hour event.

In the clip, Prince William is seen asking his father if his youngest son could switch seats to be on his knee, to which Charles nodded his approval. The king (at the time still Prince of Wales) was then photographed rocking his grandson to the time of the playing music.

Captioned “So cute together!” the video has been viewed over 350,000 times on the social media site so far and received in excess of 31,000 likes and numerous comments, many of which have praised the monarch and his grandson’s bond.

“This is just the sweetest moment between little Louis and his grandpa king,” wrote one TikTok user.

“They’re so cute,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “For someone—a king, and for someone—a grandfather.”

The last public event attended by Louis and Charles was the Christmas Day royal family appearance at St Mary Magdalen Church on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The prince joined his grandfather, parents and extended family members as they met with well-wishers and fans before heading back to Sandringham House for lunch.
