The Prince and Princess of Wales’ most romantic moments have gone viral on social media after fans posted footage of the couple on TikTok to mark Valentine’s Day.

William and Kate have not been seen together in public since Christmas Day, following the princess’ hospitalization for a “planned abdominal surgery” on January 16. This has led fans to take to social media to reflect on their favorite past appearances.

The couple’s relationship became the subject of increased public interest at the end of 2023 after the hit royal drama The Crown presented their early dating history, with Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy playing the royals.

William and Kate met while at university in 2001 and married in 2011. They have three children: Prince George, 10; Princess Charlotte, 8; and Prince Louis, 5.

While the royals did not officially mark Valentine’s Day, fans created a number of posts in dedication to various royal couples.

Uploaded to TikTok by user royal_secrets24 on Wednesday, a compilation of clips shows William and Kate at various public events throughout their 12-year marriage and has been viewed over 200,000 times.

The footage includes public displays of affection, such as instances where William and Kate have put their arms around each other during engagements or where the prince has held an umbrella for his wife as it rained while speaking to the public.

Captioned “Happy Valentines Day everyone” and edited over a cover of the song “So This Is Love” from the 1950 Disney animated film Cinderella, the viral video has received more than 19,000 likes and over 300 comments, many of which have praised the royals.

“Absolutely love this couple. A marriage built on love not duty,” wrote one TikTok user.

“I just love seeing them together its so beautiful,” posted another. A third user said, “The perfect couple, he’s a real gentleman.”

Following the announcement of Kate’s hospitalization in January, William canceled his previously planned engagements to support her and be present for the couple’s three children.

The princess was discharged from a London hospital on January 29 and returned to the Wales family home in Windsor to recuperate. She is not expected to return to public duties until after Easter.

On February 7, William made his first public appearance since Kate’s surgery and the announcement that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer. He thanked well-wishers and referenced the royals’ medical challenges in a speech at the London’s Air Ambulance Charity Gala Dinner.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Also for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days,” he said. “It means a great deal to us all.”

The prince and princess will celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary on April 29.
