The touching moment Kate Middleton met a young fan during the weekend of celebrations for King Charles’s coronation last year has gone viral after fans took to social media to post support for the princess following her cancer diagnosis.

Kate has been out of the public eye since the beginning of 2024, first to recover from abdominal surgery and then to undergo chemotherapy treatment following a cancer diagnosis.

The princess is expected to remain behind palace walls while she undergoes treatment and continues her recovery. In her absence, her fans have gone on social media to reflect on favored past appearances and notable moments.

Uploaded to TikTok by user milfssb on April 13, footage of Kate captured during the “Big Lunch” celebration for King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation last May has been viewed over 1 million times.

Kate and Prince William met with members of the public taking part in the event on the stretch of parkland in Windsor known as the “Royal Mile.” It was just one of hundreds of events across the country and the Commonwealth.

In the clip, Kate is caught on camera having a brief exchange with a young boy in the crowd. “Are you having a fun day?” she asked, to which he replied, “Yes.”

“What’s been the best thing so far?” she continued, bending down to look at the child. “You,” he responded.

To this, Kate let out a surprised “Aww.” In an extended version of the clip, not seen in the video, she added: “You are so sweet! Thank you. Well, I hope you have a fun time.”

Captioned “Little bro spoke for all of us,” the video also features a compilation of clips of Kate from various public occasions, including her tour of the Caribbean with Prince William in 2022 and a visit to the Royal Variety Performance, a televised variety show, in 2023.

The video has received over 190,000 likes and over 500 comments, many of which have praised the princess and her engagement while out and about meeting members of the public.

“Princess Kate will always be my favourite royal,” wrote one TikTok user.

“Most popular royal for a reason,” posted another.

“HE’S SO REAL FOR THAT SHE’S THE MOST ICONIC PERSON,” said another.

Kate has received an outpouring of support since she announced on March 22 that she is undergoing a course of “preventative chemotherapy” following a cancer diagnosis, both from high-profile individuals and members of the public.

President Joe Biden sent a personal message following the announcement, saying: “Jill and I join millions around the world in praying for your full recovery, Princess Kate.”

He was joined by French President Emmanuel Macron. “Your Highness, In this difficult period you are going through, Brigitte and I wish you a full recovery,” he wrote. “Your strength and resilience inspire us all.”

Among the celebrities who sent their wishes were Gwyneth Paltrow, Jamie Lee Curtis, Joan Collins and Katie Couric.
