Two women who regularly dress up as Disney Princesses Anna and Elsa from the hit movie Frozen have shared their insider tips on how others can perfect photo poses while taking on these specific characters.

Mandy Nesbit, cosplaying as Elsa, and her colleague, taking on the role of Anna, took to the social platform TikTok under Nesbit’s username @mandy.gleamnglow to demonstrate the posing strategies that had been designed to embody their characters authentically.

The video, posted on April 3, quickly generated traction among Disney enthusiasts and aspiring cosplayers alike, providing a detailed look at how theme park and event princesses manage to create magical and photogenic moments. It has been viewed over 336,000 times.

Nesbit and her fellow performer showed that their poses vary with different levels of interaction: high, medium, and low, to create a more dynamic presence while keeping in character.

Elsa’s high pose, for instance, involves raising her hand elegantly, while Anna’s includes a charming gesture of cupping her face with her hand. At the low level, both characters subtly adjust their hand placements along their thighs to suit their unique personas.

One of the key tips shared in the video is to position the characters at a 45-degree angle relative to each other, which enhances the visual dynamics of the photos. This technique is especially useful when both wannabe princesses are in the frame, helping to create a sense of interaction and closeness between the characters that is seen in the Frozen movie series and its promotional artwork.

Since it had been shared to the platform, the post has been liked more than 34,000 times. Plenty of users have voiced their appreciation of Nesbit and her friend’s practical advice, especially ahead of costume parties, themed events or Halloween.

“I watched this whole thing knowing damn well I’ll never be in this position to where I have to pose as Elsa or Anna,” one user commented.

Another user wrote: “I will be attempting to beg my mom for that Anna dress for Halloween.”

“These tips are so helpful for all ranges of characters! Definitely using the high, medium, and low trick for my next convention poses,” a third user shared.

Nesbit, based in Utah, has carved out a niche in the cosplay community by providing insights and tutorials that help others bring their favorite characters to life. Her TikTok account serves as a resource for both amateur and seasoned cosplayers who aspire to elevate their posing game to professional standards. She’s taken on the role of a number of recognizable Disney princesses and other female characters to date.
