Rescuer Becomes ‘Doula’ To Stray Cat After Realizing She’sPregnant

A social media video that chronicles how a woman rescued a cat, who she later discovered was pregnant, has tugged at heartstrings across the internet.

The viral video, which can be seen here and has been viewed more than 786,000 times since it was first shared to Instagram on January 3, detailed how the woman ended up temporarily fostering the pregnant cat and the five kittens that she went on to give birth to.

“I took in a stray cat and realized shortly thereafter that she was pregnant,” the woman shared in the post.

“Being the best doula I can be,” she added. Viewers were shown a clip of the woman, who goes by @nohouserules on the platform, snuggling up to the pregnant grey feline.

“Five healthy babies later,” the rescuer continued, as audiences were shown a clip of the kittens walking around a small indoor pen.

The stray cat later gave birth to five kittens. Her rescuer ended up caring for all of them.

The post had been captioned: “I was very adamant that I would not be keeping another cat and that they would all be adopted out. Very rich of me to pretend. And this is how Lamar came to be. But seriously. I’m done now.”

The video’s creator is an animal rescuer who has fostered and adopted countless domestic animals. She has over 22,000 followers on Instagram who follow her journey. The rescuer shared in the post’s comments section that a friend of hers ended up adopting the mother cat and another shelter cat to “keep mama company.”

Since it had been shared to the social media platform on January 3 by @nohouserules, the Instagram post has been liked by over 53,000 users and commented on more than 200 times. Instagrammers have cheered on the woman in the post’s comments section for taking in the stray cat family, even though she already cares for other animals in need.

“So gorgeous,” one user wrote.

Another user added: “She said I’m talking to you! Congratulations”.

“Beautiful cat, well done for looking after her and her babies,” a third user shared.

“Omg I’d want them all! Mama is beautiful!” another Instagram user said while another wrote: “I guess once we see their sweet faces it’s nearly impossible to give them away. why are they so sweet and cute.”
