For many of her life Haseena Akhtar has been spinning yarn to make conventional Kashmiri pashmina shawls. A craft that supplied many ladies with jobs.

However the emergence of weaving equipment, and reducing wages over the previous 30 years, have pressured these girls out of the commerce and has taken away their monetary independence.

Kadri Mujtaba runs a Pashmina firm and is hoping to convey the previous expertise of the Pashmina weaving again to day by day life in Kashmir.
