Richard Gere and wife Alejandra Silva color-coordinated while hitting the red carpet in a rare public date night for the ultra-private couple.

Gere, 74, and Silva, 41 — who wed in 2018 and share two children together — stepped out in New York City on Wednesday, April 10, dressed to the nines for this year’s annual City Harvest Gala, which honored John Legend and Alex Cohen “for their dedication to providing free, nutritious food for New Yorkers in need,” per City Harvest’s website. The event, which was hosted by Taye Diggs, also “featured a live auction and dance party.”

The Pretty Woman star looked dapper as ever in a dark blazer, which he paired with a light blue button-down underneath. Gere posed with his arm around Silva, who was the epitome of glamour in a floor-length, black tulle gown, which she accessorized with diamond earrings and a necklace and a champagne-colored clutch.

While the couple have two young children together — son Alexander, 5, and a son (whose name they have not publicly revealed), who will be 4 this month — both stars have children from previous marriages. Gere shares 24-year-old son Homer with ex-wife Carey Lowell, while Silva is mom to son Albert, 11, with ex-husband Govind Friedland.

“I’m the happiest man in the universe. How could I not be? I’m married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who’s fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who’s a great cook, and who makes the best salads in the world!” Gere gushed to Hello! magazine after exchanging vows with the philanthropist. “Alejandra meditates, she’s a vegetarian, a great mother, has the touch of an angel, and she’s also Spanish — the land of kings and queens, of Cervantes and Bunuel. You can’t get any better than that.”

The Gera-Silva family have long enjoyed a quiet life in the tony suburbs of Westchester County, just outside of New York City, where Gere owns the Bedford Post Inn, an upscale eatery and luxury inn. The Runaway Bride star sold his longtime Pound Ridge estate in 2021 to Ryan Murphy for just over $24 million. (The luxurious, eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom property is situated on 49 acres and includes a private lake, multiple guest houses, a soccer field, and horse stables, per The New York Post.)

Gere and his family, however, haven’t moved far — just to the neighboring town of North Salem, on a property he purchased for $10 million in 2022. The move was a “downsize” for the family in the fact that instead of 49 acres, they now live on 35 acres of land.
