Riot police have been deployed onto the streets of Guatemala Metropolis after a gaggle of military veterans breached the Congress constructing, forcing workers to evacuate.
Lawmakers and workplace staff have been evacuated because the group set automobiles alight within the automobile park, and precipitated injury to the primary constructing.
Army veterans have been protesting for a number of weeks, demanding approval of a legislation which might give them compensation for time served throughout Guatemala’s lengthy working civil battle, relationship from 1960-1996.
