Greater than 17,000 migrants and asylum seekers have crossed the English Channel thus far in 2021, a few of them saving up 1000’s of kilos to pay smugglers to organise their crossings.
However many, particularly youthful folks travelling alone, don’t have any cash and no contacts in Calais.
