Simon Cowell joked on Instagram about his son, Eric, following in his footsteps in regards to judging Britain’s Got Talent.
“Meet the new judges of Got Talent 2033,” Simon wrote on his Instagram on Tuesday, April 16. He shared an adorable photo of himself with his 10-year-old son behind the scenes filming the newest season of Britain’s Got Talent. He has been a judge since the debut season in 2007.
The TV personality was accompanied by Eric and another young boy as they sat behind the judges’ desk. Eric sported a yellow shirt paired with denim jeans, while Simon donned stylish orange-tinted glasses paired with a sleek all-black fit.
Many fans went to the comments to express their admiration for the wholesome moment. “I love this so much! You can tell how securely bonded they are with one another. Simon had a massive character shift when he became a dad later in life. So precious,” a user wrote. Another said, “Aww I have no doubt that Eric will want to follow in your footsteps. You’ve been a great example to him and I’m sure he adores going to work with you! I love the relationship you two have. ❤️”

Simon has undergone a remarkable transformation since his early American Idol days, during which he gained notoriety for his sharp criticism as a judge from 2002 to 2010. He welcomed Eric in 2014 with his fiancée Lauren Silverman, which marked a turning point for him. He has since opened up about the positive impact fatherhood has had on his life.
“Before Eric, my life was 99 percent work. I was obsessed with it,” Simon told The Sun in April 2023. “Now Eric is around, I don’t work through the night anymore. If he hadn’t come along, God knows what would have happened.”
Simon is also the soon-to-be stepfather of Lauren’s older son, Adam Silverman, 18, whom she shares with her ex-husband.
