Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris made their red carpet debut as a couple just days after Bush publicly confirmed their romance.

The pair attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday, April 27 — snapping some PDA photos on the red carpet. Bush wore a strapless black gown with gold accents while Harris wore a black suit with the same gold embellishments on her jacket.

The annual event serves as a platform to both raise funds for WHCA scholarships and celebrate the achievements of recipients of the WHCA’s prestigious journalism awards.

Colin Jost was the host of the charity event and President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were in attendance, as well as several other A-listers such as Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pine, Billy Porter, and John Hamm.

Coinciding with this occasion, Bush recently wrote an essay for Glamour, bravely sharing the intricacies of her journey through her divorce from Grant Hughes and coming out as queer.

While rumors of Bush’s relationship with Harris had circulated for some time, their romance was officially acknowledged through her candid essay. Delving into the details of the start of their connection, Bush elaborated on how their paths intertwined following her divorce and Harris’ own separation from ex-wife Ali Krieger.

Harris and Krieger were married for four years, from December 2019 to October 2023, and share two children, daughter Sloane and son Ocean.

In the essay, Bush touched upon Harris’ relationship with her children. “I am absolutely in awe of her relentless integrity. The way she prioritizes and centers her kids, not only in her life but in the core of her being, is breathtaking to behold,” she wrote. “Falling in love with [Harris] has sutured some of my own childhood wounds, and made me so much closer to my own mother. Seeing Ashlyn choose to not simply survive, but thrive, for her babies has been the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed a friend do. And now I get to love her. How lucky am I?”
