The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency reportedly received an email Wednesday about a bomb threat at the Gocheok Sky Dome which is where the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are set to open the MLB regular season.
According to Kim Hyun-soo of Yonhap News Agency, police said they received a report earlier in the day about the email threatening to detonate a bomb during the match between the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers to hurt superstar Shohei Ohtani and others.

“The safety and security of our fans and everyone in the ballparks where we play are always our first priority,” the league said in a statement. “MLB Security works closely with local officials to ensure a safe environment for all those who attend our games. MLB, along with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and other local officials, will continue to monitor the situation closely and take any appropriate steps throughout the event.”
Per Yonhap News Agency, police are working to track down the sender and plan to deploy 30 commandos and 120 personnel to search the stadium.
Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times wrote that as of Wednesday afternoon local time, there was no indication that security at the venue had been compromised.
