Oath Keepers Leader Stewart Rhodes will be sentenced on Thursday for seditious conspiracy and other charges related to the January 6 insurrection.

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta for the District of Columbia will issue the sentence. Federal prosecutors want Rhodes to spend 25 years behind bars for his attempt to violently block Joe Biden from taking office; Rhodes wants a sentence of time served.

Rhodes called for a “civil war” multiple times in the run-up to January 6, and was found at trial to have organized paramilitary groups to help storm the Capitol in an effort to block the formalization of Biden’s win.

Rhodes is expected to speak on his own behalf at sentencing in a plea for leniency before Judge Mehta. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. EST. Another senior Oath Keeper, Kelly Meggs, will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. EST.
