The latest album from Taylor Swift has reignited discussions about her past relationships, with both fans and critics examining the lyrics of her new double album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The album, which debuted on April 19, has sparked a pretty intense analysis as listeners parse through its lyrics for hints about the inspirations behind each song. Much of the conversation has also centered around her more significant past relationship with English actor Joe Alwyn, with some fans wondering if the pair have spoken since their breakup in April 2023.

A source close to the situation shared with ET, “Taylor and Joe are not in touch at this point, but they try to be respectful of one another.” The source added that Alwyn, 33, prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight, focusing instead on his acting career. “Joe wants to keep his personal life private. He is more introverted and the interest about his personal life is a bit overwhelming to him.”

Meanwhile, Swift, 34 has seemingly found happiness with NFL star Travis Kelce. The relationship has flourished in the public eye, which is quite the contrast from her typically private dating life. “Taylor is happier than ever in her relationship with Travis and is focused on the future,” the source also revealed.

Swifties have particularly pointed to the songs “The Alchemy” and “So High School” as potential songs about her time with Kelce, 34. “The Alchemy,” for instance, includes multiple football-related metaphors, reflecting the tight ends career achievements, including the Kansas City Chiefs’ path to Super Bowl LVIII.

Kelce’s deal is about to get even sweeter, though. The NFL star reportedly inked a new contract extension, positioning him as the highest-paid tight end in NFL history. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kelce’s contract extends through the 2027 season and is valued at $34.25 million, with $17 million fully guaranteed for the current season. This deal sets a new benchmark in NFL tight end salaries, surpassing the previous high set by Darren Waller of the New York Giants at $17 million annually, as reported by NFL Network.
