Taylor Swift Fans Are Blocking Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift fans are blocking her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, on social media after a suspected Easter egg in one of her shows.

The singer began dating the Kansas City Chiefs star in July, before the pair went viral with their first public outing in September.

Kelce has been spotted at several of Swift’s shows recently, after the Grammy winner resumed her record-breaking Eras tour in February.

Monday, Swift included a surprise performance of her track “This Love” during a concert in Singapore, Variety reported, leading fans to speculate that the romance between the pop star and Kelce is falling apart.

Featured on Swift’s 2014 album, 1989, the song describes someone in a relationship who dreams of a former lover, hinting that the past romance has been revived.

This isn’t the first time Swift has included a surprise rendition of “This Love” at an Eras tour concert. However, she paired the song with “Call It What You Want.”

In that single—from her 2017 album, Reputation—the protagonist sings about being so happy with a new man that labeling the relationship doesn’t matter.

Fans seem to think the songstress is sending them a message, that perhaps her relationship with the 34-year-old tight end is over—and she’s back with an ex.

“Taylor sang this love x ciwyw so i blocked travis kelce,” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter, following Monday’s show.

They weren’t the only one, with several users blocking Kelce and sharing screenshots as proof, citing Swift’s song choices as the reason.

Swifties have theorized that “This Love” is about the 34-year-old’s ex-boyfriend, singer Harry Styles. The pair began dating in late 2012 but separated a few months later, with the tunes “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “Style” also believed to have been inspired by her brief romance with the former boyband star.

The timing of its release has caused some to speculate that “Call It What You Want” is about either Joe Alwyn or Tom Hiddleston.

Swift dated Alwyn, an actor, for six years before the couple separated in April. Before dating the Conversations With Friends star, Swift briefly dated Hiddleston, an MCU heavyweight, in 2016. The relationship was all over the news before the music icon took a break from the limelight following their separation.

Swift is known for leaving Easter eggs for fans in her music and outfit choices.

However, Swifties blocking Kelce over “surprise songs” goes back further than the recent “This Love”/”Call It What You Want” mash-up.

When Swift performed “Haunted” and “Exile” during her gig in Sydney on February 25, fans also reacted by blocking Kelce.

“Haunted,” the No. 1 single from Swift’s 2010 album, Speak Now, is believed to be about someone who “ghosted” her, while “Exile,” from Swift’s 2020 album Folklore and featuring the folk band Bon Iver, is about a relationship breakdown.

“Taylor played haunted x exile so i blocked travis kelce,” wrote an X user in February.

Another said, “These mashups are killing me she needs to stop.”

Other shock pairings that inspired fans to block Kelce’s profiles include “White Horse” and “Coney Island.” The first focuses on the ideal man, while the second was co-written with Alwyn and was described by music journalist Bobby Olivier as a “wonderfully dark duet” with The National’s Matt Berninger.

But even songs with positive meanings have led to Kelce being blocked, such as “Daylight” from the 2019 album Lover. The tune is about losing your faith in love until someone comes along and revives it.

“Taylor played Daylight for the 2nd time without me there so I blocked Travis Kelce,” one user wrote, with others following suit.

However, Swift paired the song with “Come Back … Be Here” during her Melbourne, Australia, gig on February 18. Featured on her 2012 album, Red, the track’s protagonist talks about falling in love without realizing it.

Several of Swift’s famous exes have been touted as the inspiration for “Come Back … Be Here,” including Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and Zac Efron—although there’s no evidence that Swift and the Iron Claw actor dated.
