Taylor Swift appears to have given the Kansas City Chiefs’ new wide receiver her seal of approval, liking a social media post welcoming Xavier Worthy to the team.
The Chiefs traded up four spots with the Buffalo Bills on Friday, selecting the former Texas Longhorns star in the NFL draft.
The team shared Worthy’s live reaction to its Instagram account. The 20-year-old looked thrilled with the news, smiling widely in the clip. His friends and loved ones erupted into cheers and applause, patting Worthy on the back, while his mother Nicky Jones pulled him in for a hug.

“The moment @worthyyy became a Kansas City Chief,” the team wrote alongside the footage, adding a heart emoji.
Swift also seemed pleased for Worthy and the Chiefs, liking the video. The 34-year-old singer has been a regular fixture at Chiefs’ games since she began dating the team’s tight end, Travis Kelce, in July.
Fans didn’t miss Swift’s social media activity, with @moon.malva commenting: “Taylor liking this omg.”

“Travis made Taylor watch the draft with him and now she liked this post,” joked Sarah.
“Taylor herself [liked] the post, many tayblessings to come for Worthy,” said @alisunderfoot.
“Taylor Swift likes that you are a Chief!!” wrote @wendykjay, tagging Worthy’s account.
“So are we going to nickname him the bolter?” asked Kaitlin Nelson, referencing the track from Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, and Worthy’s record-breaking 4.21-second 40-yard dash at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in March.
Swift and Kelce went public with their romance in September, when the Grammy winner showed up to watch the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
The “Shake it Off” singer attended many games during football season, and was there to witness the Chiefs’ 25-22 Superbowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers in February.
However, not all football fans have been pleased with Swift’s presence. Many viewers took to social media to complain about the amount of coverage the NFL dedicated to Swift—despite the pop star spending an average of 25 seconds on screen per game.
Swift was unconcerned by the trolls. In her cover interview for Time’s Person of the Year in December, the pop star said: “I’m just there to support Travis.
“I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and p****** off a few dads, Brads, and Chads,” she explained.
“There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”
