A teen’s hilarious reaction to a car crashing into a Rhode Island Dunkin’ this week went viral on social media.

On Tuesday morning, Melanie DaSilva of WPRI-TV in Rhode Island shared a video on X, formerly Twitter, where she spoke with a teen who witnessed the incident unfold.

“I was just like, America doesn’t just run on Dunkin’, cars do too,” the teen said in the video.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the video posted by DaSilva had garnered one million views on X. A number of other social media accounts also shared the video showing the teen’s reaction.

“A car crashed into a Dunkin’ in Cranston this morning and this 15-year-old worker had the best reaction. Put him in the marketing division,” the Citizen Free Press wrote in a post sharing the video. The post received over 3,000 views on X.

The Post Millennial also shared the video with a caption that said, “15-year-old worker after a car crashed into a Dunkin’ in Cranston this morning: ‘America doesn’t just run on Dunkin. Cars do too.'”

According to WJAR news in Rhode Island, the incident occurred at a Dunkin’ in the city of Cranston.

Officials with the Cranston Fire responded to the scene at a Dunkin’ located near Reservoir Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. local time, WJAR reported. The local news outlet also reported that officers with the Cranston Police Department said that the driver of the vehicle that crashed into the Dunkin’ had a learner’s permit and not a valid driver’s license.

According to WJAR, the driver accidentally put the vehicle into drive, instead of reverse and hit the accelerator. Shortly after, the car drove into the Dunkin’ location and crashed the front window of the store.

The vehicle drove all the way through the store, stopping at the front counter, police officials told WJAR.

Newsweek reached out to the Cranston Police Department via email for further information on the incident.

A number of other social media users also reacted to the video of the 15-year-old.
