The core of the crew – “Andy” Hardy, MacCallum and Reilley – first flew collectively in July 1942. By the spring of 1943, they had been joined by tail gunner “Pink” O’Neill, flight engineer Ken Collopy, and higher gunner, Norm Weiler, considered one of solely two non-Canadians.
