Celebrities are mourning country music legend Toby Keith, who has died after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.
His family announced his death in a statement shared on social media on Monday.
“Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time,” the message read.
Stars including golfer John Daly, singer-songwriter Randy Houser and actor Garrett Hedlund shared their tributes to the late country star in the comment section of the announcement made on Instagram.
“God Bless you and Family. Hard to imagine an America without Toby Keith in it,” Houser wrote.
Keith was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2021, and took an indefinite break from recording new music and performing live. But he continued to fundraise for children’s cancer research through his Toby Keith Foundation.
