Tonga tsunami cuts off almost all island communications – BBC Information
A tsunami which hit Tonga has left island communications crippled, with individuals abroad anxiously ready for information of family members.
The underwater volcano erupted on Saturday, about 65km (40 miles) north of the capital Nuku’alofa.
The eruption, which was heard as distant because the US, triggered waves increased than a metre to crash into Tonga.
The authorities haven’t confirmed any deaths however the scale of the destruction is tough to determine with cellphone and web communications broken.
However the Crimson Cross gave some trigger for hope, saying studies urged the harm was not as dangerous as had been feared.
