We still have some time before the summer transfer window reopens in Europe, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip is swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Man United monitoring Wolves’ Gomes

Manchester United are weighing up a summer swoop for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder João Gomes, according to The Mirror.

The 23-year-old has been on the radar of United this season, with the fallen Premier League giants sending scouts to watch the playmaker on several occasions. It is reported that with Casemiro set to depart Old Trafford this summer, the Red Devils are desperate to secure a holding midfielder, with Gomes identified as a potential replacement for the Brazilian.

Casemiro has struggled for consistency this season and the 32-year-old will likely leave United, who are keen to replace the former Real Madrid player with a more youthful playmaker. However, a deal will not be straightforward for Man United.

The report reveals that they could face competition from Tottenham and Newcastle for the Brazilian, with his departure from Wolves looking likely after the Midlands outfit have begun identifying replacements ahead of the summer.

Gomes joined Wolves in January 2023 and has been a mainstay for Gary O’Neil this season, featuring 28 times in all competitions. It is reported that the midfielder is valued at £40m, after an impressive campaign which recently saw Gomes score both goals in a 2-1 win vs. Spurs.

– West Ham will make another approach for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, suggest Football Insider. The 31-year-old has been on the radar of the London club for over a year, with the Hammers attempting to lure Maguire to the club last summer, though a move never materialized. The report reveals that with Maguire having just one year left on his deal at Old Trafford, West Ham could return with an approach this summer, with United keen to facilitate a departure to ensure he does not leave as a free agent.

– Juventus are weighing up a potential swoop for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, suggest Kicker. The report reveals that the Turin giants sent scouts to keep tabs on Goretzka during Bayern’s 3-0 win over Lazio in the Champions League. However, it is reported that the German international would prefer to stay with the Bavarian outfit, and with the 29-year-old under contract until 2026 with the Bundesliga champions, he could prove too expensive for Juventus this summer.

– Barcelona are interested in striking a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich this summer, reveal Kicker. However, the report suggests that the Spanish outfit are unsure if they could raise the necessary funds to agree a deal with the Bavarian outfit which plunges any potential move in doubt. The 29-year-old is under contract with Bayern until 2025, which could force the German champions to cut their asking price this summer to ensure he does not leave as a free agent in 2025.

– Juventus are facing competition from Liverpool for Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, per Calciomercato. It is reported that Atalanta will demand a hefty fee for the 26-year-old, having already rejected €50m from Napoli last summer. The report reveals that negotiations for the midfielder could start at €70m which already poses a potential stumbling block for Juventus. However, alongside this, Liverpool are also understood to have shown an interest with negotiations potentially starting in advance, with the Reds set to play Atalanta in April in the Europa League.

– Liverpool have not received any approaches from Paris Saint-Germain for forward Luis Díaz, reports Fabrizio Romano. The tweet indicates that Liverpool have no desire to part ways with the 27-year-old, who has notched 11 goals and five assists in all competitions for the Premier League outfit this season. Whilst PSG reportedly hold an interest in Díaz,, Romano reveals that the French outfit are currently focusing on other priorities, and are not actively working on a deal for the Colombia international.
