A bridge that crosses Baltimore’s harbor has collapsed into the river after being struck by a container ship early Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses captured the moment the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland broke up and crashed into the Patapsco River.
A large vessel struck the bridge at around 1:30 a.m. before catching on fire and sinking, according to WTOP News. Multiple vehicles also reportedly fell into the river during the incident.
Newsweek is attempting to contact authorities to find out further information. It remains unclear if there were any casualties.
