A mass brawl has broken out in an unknown Walmart store, according to videos posted online.

A clip posted numerous times on X, formerly Twitter, in recent days shows a huge brawl between shoppers at a self-checkout area. The footage shows at least seven people participating in the fight. Newsweek has been as yet unable to find out exactly when or where the video was taken. The reason for why the fight broke out is not clear. Newsweek has contacted Walmart for comment via the contact form on its website.

Clips of fights in grocery stores are common online. In September 2023, a fight involving around 25 people inside a Walmart store went viral across social media. The brawl also took place at a self-checkout, according to reporting by Dextero gaming news outlet, which described the fight as “Walmart’s version of Avengers Endgame“.

The bulk of the fighting in the latest video appears to be between four women. During the 40-second clip, a woman in a long red-and-yellow dress can be seen punching another female in a short pink dress while she is on the floor. Two other women, one in a white T-shirt and another in a beige dress, can also be seen hitting each other. During the fight, the woman in the red-and-yellow dress has the top half of her garment pulled down or ripped.

On the periphery of the fight, a woman in a blue leotard can be seen restraining another dressed in all black, with her arms pulled behind her back. In the mix, there is also a child, who is not fighting, but appears to be attempting to get the attention of one of the adults.

The fight inspired plenty of reactions from X users. One user, Adam, wrote that “Walmart should be renamed Thunder Dome,” in apparent reference to the 1985 post-apocalyptic Mel Gibson film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Mrgunsngear added, alongside the clip of the fight: “When is the last time you went to a Walmart in an American city?”

More recently, Bullhead City Police in Arizona responded to a call regarding a fight in a Walmart near State Highway 95 and Mohave Drive, according to AzCentral.

A verbal argument escalated into a violent altercation where food was used as a weapon, according to police spokesperson Emily Fromelt. One of the men reportedly began throwing onions, leading other shoppers attempting to break up the fight.

One man was injured when a glass jar was thrown at him and was treated at the scene by paramedics. Fromelt said a warrant was issued for the suspect, who will face charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
