The summer sun can be both a blessing and a curse, often pushing us to come up with creative ways to keep cool and protect ourselves in the heat.

There is nothing more annoying for makeup lovers who have managed to get their products to stick through the heat, only to be left with marks on their noses from their sunglasses, a surefire way to ruin a beautiful beat.

For those who think those pesky red marks are a makeup sin, there could be an easy way for a quick fix to ensure your makeup stays in place; all you need are your favorite glasses, a nail file, some scissors, and, the star of the show, a powder puff.

Yes, the key to success could have been in your makeup bag all along, as revealed in a reel shared to Instagram by Florida-based makeup artist Jada Collins (@jadacmakeupartistry).

In the viral clip, which has received over 135,000 views, Collins is seen taking a powder puff, typically used to apply product to the face, and cutting this down to a small size.

Collins then takes a nail file, which she uses to rough up the edge of her sunglasses at the point they touch her nose, to add grip and git, making her next step easier.

Collins uses what appears to be an eyelash glue to coat the area she filed, taking the cut-up powder puff from earlier and sticking this to the glasses.

To neaten up her project, she trims around the powder puff to ensure it lays flush to the glasses, almost undetectable when wearing.

The powder puff now sits as a barrier between the sunglasses and her makeup, reducing the risks of the glasses rubbing product off or indenting her nose.

What Do the Comments Say?

Viewers were impressed by the hack and ready to try it for themselves, as one wrote: “uhm, ima need to do this to ALL my glasses.”

Another added: “This is literally the smartest thing I’ve ever witnessed.”

“This is genius! It’s such a pet peeve of mine,” commented a third.

Others weren’t sold by Collins’ problem-solving abilities, as one posted: “They sell these, and they are disposable… much more sanitary… “

Another added, “You can also just add setting powder to the nose part.”

One user pointed out the damage the hack could cause, as they wrote: “So you ruin your sunnies instead.”
