Two people—including a police officer—were injured after gunfire erupted at a Walgreens on Sunday evening.
Shots rang out after authorities arrived at the store in West Ashley, South Carolina, at around 7:00 p.m., according to local media reports.
Police were called to 1925 Ashley River Road and reportedly discovered a person with a gun at the scene. It remains unclear who fired a weapon or who started shooting first, but the incident ended with two people in the hospital, including an officer.
Neither of the patients are suffering from life-threatening injuries, the broadcaster Live 5 WCSC reported. No further details have been released about those involved, such as their gender, ages, or the nature of their injuries.
The road was closed as detectives shut down the scene for investigation on Sunday night. There have been no reports yet of any arrests stemming from the shooting.
