A 19-year-old woman was killed and a 19-year-old man was injured in an ATV crash in a remote sector of Gatineau Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred at about 4 o.n. when an all-terrain vehicle went out of control in a wooded area near Bourdon and Beauchastel streets, in Gatineau’s Limbour district.
The crash site scene was difficult to access and about a dozen firefighters were required to get to the site on foot to free at least one of the victims.
Firefighters were able the administer first aid and transported victims via a specialized off-road vehicle to an ambulance standing by on Mc Dermott Street, the Gatineau Fire Safety Service said in a release.
The woman succumbed to her injuries, Gatineau police said.
A oolice spokesman said Wednesday the investigation continues but “early results” show no criminal indications.
