LONDON (AP) — A girl in her 80s was in essential situation after being hit by a police bike that was escorting Sophie, the spouse of Prince Edward, British police stated Thursday.

The Metropolitan Police stated the bike collided with a pedestrian on Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in west London.

Sophie, referred to as the Duchess of Edinburgh, stated her “heartfelt ideas and prayers are with the injured girl and her household,” in accordance with a press release from Buckingham Palace.

The assertion added that Sophie was “grateful for the swift response by the emergency providers.”

It stated additional remark could be inappropriate as a result of the crash was being investigated.

Sophie, 58, is a full-time working royal married to Edward, the youthful brother of King Charles III.
