A bride’s unique walk down the aisle has been praised online for its blend of tradition and personal flair, with a video of her taking in the special moment going viral on TikTok.

Gina Cole’s distinctive approach to her bridal entrance set the stage for a wedding that was as memorable as the 25-year-old’s journey to the altar with her partner Jared—who she met in New Jersey when she was just 15.

The clip, which debuted on TikTok on February 17, shows a radiant Cole standing poised at the chapel’s double doors. In a twist on the traditional procession, the bride begins by standing alone as the doors open, with the assembled guests turning to face her.

Moments later, Cole’s father joins her from the side, and together they walk down the aisle with their arms linked.

“I’m a Florida-based lifestyle content creator and just married my high school sweetheart, Jared,” Cole, who goes by @ginaammarie on TikTok, told Newsweek.

“My cousin played Canon in D on the piano and as the chapel doors flushed open, there I stood in a big white dress, with my husband waiting for me at the altar. After a few musical notes, then entered my dad, where we stood together soaking up this special moment before proceeding down the aisle.”

“Adding a few small pauses allowed me to appreciate the moment that I had been waiting for since I was 15,” she added.

The bride and groom had faced challenges when Jared had to move to Florida, which was a “plane ride” away from Cole at the time.

Despite a distance of over 1,000 miles between them, their relationship flourished, culminating in this celebration that was eagerly anticipated by their friends and family.

“With the distance and the unfavorable odds of high school relationships stacked against us, our love prevailed,” Cole said.

“Knowing that our wedding was so highly anticipated and exciting for not only us, but our loved ones as well, it was important that every moment was meaningful and reflected the uniqueness of our journey.”

This desire for emotional significance and a touch of personal sparkle is clear in Cole’s now-famous wedding walk.

Growing up, Cole’s father was a “constant figure of encouragement and love” in her life, and their bond played a significant role in the big day.

A bride and their father usually walk in tandem down the aisle from the start, but Cole’s entrance at the February ceremony gave her the solitary moment to connect with the setting and her awaiting husband, while underscoring her close father-daughter relationship.

“We always had a close-knit bond so I knew that him walking me down the aisle into the next chapter of my life would be overflowing with so many bittersweet emotions,” Cole said of her dad.

“When planning my bridal entrance I wanted both my first look down the aisle with my husband to be significant and my dad walking me down the aisle to be significant, so I created two separate moments.”

The arrangement struck a chord with many on social media, resonating with viewers around the world. More than 310,000 TikTokers have liked Cole’s post to date.
