Is there any clearer sign of summer arriving than seeing your freckly friend slowly become covered in the colored marking in response to the sun?
The freckle trend is showing no signs of slowing down as more people use a number of hacks to emulate the look we haven’t all been blessed with. The good news, however, is you likely have all the tools you need to recreate the look in your makeup bag.
To get a gorgeous faux-freckle effect, the tools and products needed couldn’t be simpler to source, as all you need to grab is your spoolie, a brown eyeshadow and a splash of micellar water.

Rose Siard, co-founder of Rose and Ben, shared the surprisingly easy tutorial on TikTok, where she gained over 161,000 views from users wanting to learn how to create the look for themselves.
Siard, who was recreating a makeup look inspired by singer Sabrina Carpenter, explained how she uses the brow tool to apply faux freckles starting with the “smallest amount of micellar water, then we’re gonna take a spoolie and run that back and forth in here [the liquid].”
She then rolled the spoolie in an eyeshadow pan, disrupting and lifting the product onto the brush, before the next step, for which she suggested you “definitely protect yourself.”
Holding the spoolie near her face, she went on to use her nail to flick the brush, spraying product onto her face in perfect freckle shapes and sizes. For more control over placement, hold the brush closer to your face.
If you haven’t placed your new freckles as well as you hoped, it’s easily flexible, as she explained: “Take a little tiny brush, some powder foundation, and you can just ever so lightly buff them away.”
To bring the look all together, Siard said it’s key to melt the freckles into your skin tone, as she explained to use “the tiniest little tap of powder foundation [over the freckles] just to melt them into your skin tone and undertone.”
