The best nail technicians pay attention to detail, work with precision, and, above all, have a chatty disposition. One woman’s husband is ticking all these boxes.

A viral TikTok video posted by Dan and Sam (@wearedanandsam) revealed husband Dan’s hilarious response to Sam saying she wanted a manicure. In the video, Dan assumes the role of a professional nail technician, offering Sam a variety of colors and even up-charging for add-ons. Since it was posted on March 28, it has received over 423,000 likes and over 4,300 comments.

“I told my husband I wanted a manicure, five minutes later he did this,” Sam captioned the video. “For real though, these are perfect for Easter,” she wrote, referring to the finished product.

The video shows Dan inviting Sam into a room in their home for her “manicure appointment.” Complete with an equipment cart and color chart, Dan offers his wife options for customization—but at a cost.

“I think I’ll do the flowers,” she said.

“That’s $9.99 more,” he replied.

Dan then proceeded to make small talk with Sam, asking her if she had a boyfriend. After telling him she was married, Dan responded: “Do you help him on his vehicles?”

After her nails were finished, Sam’s revealed the multi-color Springtime nails completed by her husband, for the modest price of $65.99.

“Are you paying cash, card or another form of payment?” Dan said, suggestively.

What Did the Internet Think of Dan’s Gesture?

Users online were obsessed with Dan’s playful response to his wife’s wish. Having committed deeply to the act—props and all—his performance went over well with the internet.

“I was waiting for him to bring cash, but he brought the whole salon,” @.ania84 wrote.

“This is green flag energy. Where can I get one?” @msjody88 said.

Some laughed at Dan’s props, and his suggestion of an alternate form of payment, referring to his dejected face when Sam told him she’d be paying cash.

“The look of disappointment at your payment method choice,” @peartree2022 wrote.

“OMG this is absolutely adorable of him,” @cunchitta wrote. “And the cart, are you kidding me?”

Most impressive is the accuracy with which Dan executed the skit. Users referenced the limited amount of time offered to Sam to select a color, and the exorbitant up-charges for even the smallest details.

“At least he’s on point with the price,” @jessicarenee707 wrote. “I feel like that’s exactly how it is every time you go to get your nails done. By the time you walk out, it’s $100 for your set.”
