Those who travel by air typically have one of two experiences—sitting next to someone very chatty or silence all the way through. It all depends on who decides to plop next to you on the plane.

You might have thought you had great experiences in the past, but TikTok user @mariahh7488 has everyone beat after a dog sat next to her on the flight.

Her January 8 TikTok video starts with her sitting by herself. The video on the text reads: “I love it when people are still boarding and idk who will sit next to me…”

The anticipation was building up as passengers piled in. Then finally, her seat partner sat down. The rest of the video text says: “…but then a DOG sits next to me.”

She truly hit the “jackpot” on this flight with the cutest passenger sitting next to her.

“He was SO GOOD and the owners were super sweet too,” the creator told Newsweek via TikTok.

She wrote in the comment section that the owners also let her give him treats. Does life get better than that?

Viewers are jealous and wondering how they can make this happen on their next flight.

Is this a premium package? I am willing to pay extra fees,” commented one viewer.

Another added: “That’s like the best possible thing that could happen on a flight.”

Flying With Dogs

If only all flights could be filled with fluffy pups, then the price of a ticket wouldn’t feel as painful on the bank account. But, unfortunately, doggy-filled planes are not that common.

About 2 million pets travel by air each year, according to the United States Department of Transportation. That is minuscule in comparison to the nearly 4.5 billion who fly worldwide, which is why this TikTok user is so lucky.

Traveling by air can be stressful for both people and dogs as there are strange sounds, sights, and smells. The American Kennel Club reported that traveling can cause changes in a dog’s diet and water intake that could affect their gastrointestinal health, dehydration, and interruptions to strict medication schedules.

But, sometimes, air travel is unavoidable. Owners should take their dogs to the vet seven to 10 days before departure. Be sure to pack any medications they need as well as special foods. Do not feed them six hours before leaving, but do give them bottled water. Owners should also check with their specific airline about the requirements needed to fly with a pet.
