If you have found yourself searching for ways to change your eye shape, you’ve probably been met with articles and before-and-after pictures of anti-wrinkle injections like botulinum toxin, expensive advanced treatments, and even surgeries; but what if there was a natural alternative?

Good news! There may be one available, and all it takes is a gua sha and a few minutes of your time each day. Sarah Fraggis, 32, shared exactly what you need to do in a now-viral TikTok video.

Fraggis, from Chicago, Illinois, first began practicing facial cupping and gua sha during the pandemic and said in the tutorial that she had transformed her hooded eye shape to appear more open and lifted.

Before-and-after photos of Sarah Fraggis’ eye transformation. She told Newsweek she used gua sha and facial cupping techniques to achieve the change.

Fraggis, who shared images of herself from 2019 to show the transformation, told Newsweek: “I began by following gua sha gurus who taught the method. Once I fell in love with these tools, I enrolled in online classes and learned the proper way to perform these methods along with the science behind it.

“I wanted to create a lift in my brows because I looked tired and puffy. I also carry a lot of tension in my eyebrows that contribute to head pains. Releasing the tension and getting rid of the fluid gave me the attractive eye lift I was desiring without going under the knife,” Fraggis added.

If you are eager to get started and want to know how long it will take to see a change, Fraggis said: “I saw results from the first time. My advice to anyone starting it to take a before and after picture; from the first use, you’ll see your skin is glowing and less puffy.

“Once you get to three weeks, your wrinkles are less, and you will see a lift. These methods are often referred to as an ‘Eastern facelift’; it’s truly for a reason,” Fraggis added.

Holistic facialist and gua sha specialist Donna Ryan told Newsweek her thoughts on the video. She said: “She’s [Fraggis] got a great method and I love her routine, and everything she says is true about releasing tension and fluid, and it will lift the eyes, but this only happens if you have tension or stagnation in the tissue.”

Despite being impressed by Fraggis’ routine, Ryan wanted to be transparent as she felt “people will feel disappointed when they do not get those results.”

Ryan said: “Gua sha cannot remove fat from a double chin or lift hooded eyes; it cannot change what you were born with. However, it can soften fine lines and wrinkles, and can lift the muscles, too; it does this by releasing the tension.

“It’s beauty from the inside out; it’s more about making the tissue healthy, as when the tissue is healthy, then it makes the skin glow and you feel better in yourself,” Ryan added.

What Do the Comments Say?

The comments showed that viewers were clearly impressed by Fraggis’ transformation, as one wrote: “The girl in the photo is you? No way! You look amazing!”

Another posted: “Trying this asap [as soon as possible]! Have all this product already.”

For some, the hack just wasn’t for them, as a third user commented: “How long after should you see a difference. I’m doing this every day for 3 months and there are no changes visible.”

Another added: “It’s taken 4 years to get results. I rather have Botox.”
