‘Wordle’ #1,004 Tips and Answer for Tuesday, March 19 Game

We might all love playing Wordle, but the puzzle does not always make it easy for us to solve it, and that’s why Newsweek is here to help you with handy tips to help you over the line.

The popular online game requires players to solve a mystery five-letter word in six attempts or fewer.

Players enter their guesses on the Wordle app or website and then, through a process of elimination, work out the word with the help of color-coded tile system. A green tile indicates a correct letter; a yellow shows the letter is in the word but in wrong spot; and a gray tells the player that letter does not appear in the word at all.

The game was invented by Welsh-born but New York-based software engineer Josh Wardle. He told Newsweek in January 2022, why he decided on five-letter words being the golden standard for the game.

“There is a reason that every word is five letters long and that you are allowed six attempts to guess it. That might seem arbitrary, but, with the prototype version, I tested different word lengths and experimented with the number of tries that players were allowed,” Wardle said.

Hint #1: Today’s Wordle is a verb.

Hint #2: The word begins with the letter “A.”

Hint #3: The answer contains three vowels.

Hint #4: There are no duplicated letters.

Hint #5: The answer ends with the letter “E.”

The answer to today’s Wordle is “Abide.”

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, abide has a few different meanings including to bear patiently; endure without yielding; to wait for or to accept without objection.

As an intransitive verb, it means to remain stable or fixed in a state; or to continue in a place.
