Whether you’re still basking in holiday mode or back on the grind, there is no rest from Wordle.

The daily puzzle game is a worldwide sensation and every day challenges players to solve a five-letter word, using a process of elimination style tactic.

Helping players along is a color-coded tile system to let them know if they’re on the right track or not.

A green tile signifies a correct letter, a yellow tile means that letter appears in the day’s word but is in the wrong spot, and a gray tile shows that letter is incorrect.

Players need to try and solve the word in six tries or less.

The New York Times bought Wordle from its creator, Josh Wardle, for an undisclosed seven-figure sum in 2022 and it has since amassed more than 2 million players after starting out with just 90.

Wardle invented the game in 2013 for his partner because she loved playing word games and made it public in 2021, when it became a sensation at the height of the COVID pandemic.

“[My partner] and I play it on the couch together each morning. She will consistently get it in three goes, which is way, way better than I can ever hope to achieve. I normally need at least four or five attempts,” he told Newsweek in January 2022.

Erhan Aslan, an expert in applied linguistics at the University of Reading in the U.K., gave some tips on how to improve your chances of solving the daily puzzle.

“One thing that I think is important in this game is the starting letter chosen,” Aslan told Newsweek. “Starting off with letters that include commonly used vowels, for example, e and a, consonants such as r and t, and sound sequences might be helpful.”

If you’re struggling with today’s word, Newsweek has put together some handy clues to help get you over the line. But a word of warning, the answer is a bit further down this article, so scroll with caution.
