Most pet owners know that whether we like it or not, our four-legged friends tend to have or pick favorites. This Yorkshire terrier has made it perfectly clear that he has a particular affinity for his grandpa over other people in his “pack.”
The Yorkshire terrier appeared in a recently-shared social media video that captures his overwhelming joy at realizing that he’s at his grandpa’s front door. The social media clip has tugged at heartstrings across the internet.
The viral video, which has been viewed more than 148,000 times in just nine days, filmed the dog’s excitement and frantic tail wags after his grandpa greeted him warmly at his home in Ireland.
Viewers watched the male dog, who is named Cookie, try and lunge forward into his grandpa’s arms from his owner’s grasp.
“When your puppy visits grandad,” Cookie’s owner said.
The post had been captioned: “They have a special bond.”

Since it had been shared to the social media platform on March 24 by @cookietheminiatureyork, the TikTok post has been liked more than 8,000 times. TikTokers have been gushing over the sweet moment in the post’s comments section.
“Adorable puppy dog,” one user wrote.
Another user added: “He sure loves grandpa.”
“It’s too cute, he hadn’t seen him in a while and couldn’t handle the excitement,” the dog’s owner replied.
“That’s true love,” a third user shared.
