Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard have suffered a tremendous family loss.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard,” the former Counting On stars shared on Saturday, April 13, via a joint Instagram post that showed the couple leaning against each other while cradling a pink crocheted blanket and other small baby items. “Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero.”

The couple, who wed in 2014 and share three sons, continued: “From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world.”

Duggar and Dillard concluded the poignant post by thanking their supporters. “We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie. 😭🩷.”

While the pair’s Instagram followers shared their words of comfort and sorrow, family members — including Jill’s sister Jinger Duggar and cousin Amy Duggar — also sent the former reality stars their sympathies, with Jinger noting that she is “continuing to uphold you all in prayer. Sweet little Isla will be missed.” Amy, for her part, praised Isla Marie’s name and told her cousin that God has a plan through all the heartbreak.”

“You’ve been on my mind and in our prayers and will continue to be,” she added.
Sadly, this is not the first time Jill and her husband suffered a pregnancy loss. In 2021, the former TLC stars revealed that they had suffered a miscarriage.

“We recently found out we were expecting our third baby. We were thrilled! However, a few days later we started miscarrying,” Jill shared via Instagram at the time. “We love and miss you River Bliss!”

Other Duggar family members have also felt the pain of pregnancy loss: Jill’s sisters Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna Duggar have also suffered miscarriages. Their parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar — from whom Jill and Dillard are estranged — have also been open about their own loss.

“Our 20th child, who was due in April 2012, passed away recently,” Jim Bob wrote in a Today.com letter in 2011.
