Jonathan Majors has shared his thoughts on a jury finding him guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

The actor, 34, was convicted of two misdemeanour charges of domestic violence on Monday at Manhattan’s Criminal court, including harassing and assaulting Jabbari during a series of incidents between the pair in March.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and in a statement following the verdict, Majors vowed to continue the fight to clear his name, according to his attorney, Priya Chaudhry.

“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that,” a statement provided to Newsweek by Chaudhry read.

“We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him,” the statement said.

“Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, his friends, and his fans for their love and support during these harrowing eight months,” it said. “Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”

The jury in the case was shown footage of an incident between Jabbari and Majors on a New York street where she is seen trying to escape from an SUV in which they were passengers. Majors chases her, restrains her and then throws her back into the car. She suffered a broken finger, a laceration to her ear and bruises as a result of the attack.

A sentencing date has been set for February 6 and Majors could face up to a year in jail.

The couple met on the set of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where Jabbari worked as a movement coach and Majors played Kang the Conqueror.

He had been hired by Marvel to play a new overarching villain and had already appeared in two seasons of the Disney+ series, Loki. He was also slated to star in two upcoming Avengers movies but was fired by Marvel and Disney after the verdict.

It is not yet known if the character will be recast.

Disney canceled the release of the much-hyped and highly anticipated movie Magazine Dreams, starring Majors.

After his March arrest, the U.S. Army pulled ads featuring Major’s voice and he was dropped by his publicist and agent.

Before his arrest he had already been dropped by Creative Artists Agency for “brutal conduct” towards its staff, according to Variety.
